DIMAPUR, MAY 12 (NPN): Advisor for Labour & Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, and Excise, Moatoshi Longkumer, on Tuesday inaugurated a 2,000 foot long concrete road at Grace Colony, Lengrijan, constructed under the Local Area Development Project (LADP) 2025–26. The dedicatory prayer was offered by K. Olemla Jamir.
Addressing the gathering, Longkumer lauded the colony leadership and coordination, stating that the project stood out for its high standard of workmanship. He commended the community for maintaining transparency in the use of LADP funds and for judiciously utilising resources.
He noted that while the state government cannot provide infrastructure to every household, collective effort and proper coordination at the community level could drive meaningful development. Expressing optimism, he said that if the colony continued to work in unity and with commitment, it would witness sustained growth and progress.
Grace Colony executive member, Thupupra Nyekha, in a short address, recalled that the area was once a paddy field and that the colony’s development had taken place gradually over time. He shared that the name “Grace Colony” was chosen after much thought and prayer during its early establishment.
Nyekha expressed gratitude to the advisor on behalf of the residents for the road project and further appealed for the construction of an additional road connecting the colony to Aokong village.
