Advisor for Labour & Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and Excise, and in-charge of NPF Dimapur Division, Moatoshi Longkumer, on Monday said that the party’s vision remains centred on governance and the welfare of the people.
Addressing party leaders and workers during the Central Office Bearers’ tour programme at Dimapur-II Assembly Constituency, Indisen, Dimapur, Longkumer greeted senior leaders and acknowledged the presence of senior vice president Charlie Sekhose and other party workers.
He said that following the amalgamation of party groups, the NPF had emerged stronger under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio and the party’s central leadership. Emphasising a clear vision, he noted that the party’s commitment goes beyond a manifesto, aiming to remain in governance while addressing public needs across sectors, including livelihood, development, and the Naga political issue.
Highlighting the role of grassroots workers, Longkumer urged members to stay connected with the people and strengthen leadership through active participation and electoral success. He encouraged party workers to be empathetic, approachable, and consistent in understanding public concerns, adding that awareness and strong interpersonal relations were key to winning elections.
The advisor also cautioned against arrogance and detachment, reminding members that public appreciation and trust were crucial for political relevance. He underscored that being part of a political party held value only when one could earn both the confidence and support of the people.
NPF Dimapur Division president Vihoshe Awomi also addressed the gathering, calling for unity, discipline, and proactive efforts in preparation for the 2028 Assembly elections. He described Dimapur as a politically significant district and stressed the importance of coordination among leaders.
Awomi urged party members to remain loyal and active, warning against factionalism, inactivity, and disconnection within party ranks. He also highlighted the importance of minority support and better coordination across party units. He said the touring initiative, organized under the leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and the party leadership, reflected the party’s commitment to engaging with all districts and constituencies.
He also raised concern over the presence of “parachute” office bearers who remain disconnected from party structures, urging them to actively coordinate with both the division and central leadership.
Referring to Dimapur as the “nerve centre” of Nagaland, he said any political instability in the district could impact the entire state, and therefore called for greater unity among leaders and workers.
The programme was chaired by general secretary, Dimapur-II A/C Rampau Zeliang, with invocation by president, Women Wing, Dimapur-II A/C Chanbeni Patton and welcome address by president of NPF Dimapur-II A/C Limawati Imchen, followed by discussions with the central team.
