Mobile phones hurting work culture: Patton

Y. Patton, deputy chief minister of Nagaland, said misuse of modern gadgets, particularly mobile phones was causing rapid diminishing of work culture in Naga society.

A press release issued by the deputy CM’s media cell stated that Patton was exhorting a gathering at the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of Koio Baptist Church (KBC) on January 20.

According to Patton, the most vulnerable section of society to the threat of addiction to this modern technology is the student community at large.

Touching on virtue, the deputy chief minister said that an honest life transforms society. Christians should be honest and truthful in every realm and aspect of their lives, be they social, political or religious, he added.

On the celebrations, Patton called a jubilee a time for retrospection and introspection on God’s blessings of the past. He added that every Jubilee was a milestone achievement and opined that it should be a time to forgive and forget, and create a new beginning with new hope.

Patton expressed hope that the platinum jubilee celebration would bring forth many bountiful blessings for the KBC.

The two-day platinum jubilee celebration was held under the theme “The truth has set you free” John 8:32. Rev. Dr. L Tsanso, president Lotha Baptist Church Association, spoke on the theme during the Sunday service.

The jubilee monolith was dedicated by Rev. Nyanchumo Lotha, executive secretary LBCA on January 19.
