Model Christian College observed Cultural Day on February 21 at its College Auditorium under the theme “Carrying Culture Forward,” celebrating tradition, unity, and cultural identity.
The event was graced by under secretary and project lead of NSEDM and founder of the Mekhela Wednesday Movement Meripeni as the guest speaker. In her address, she encouraged students to value, preserve, and carry forward their cultural heritage. The celebration featured a series of enriching presentations, including The history of Konyak headhunters, My Land—a folk fusion performance—and The Three Sons: A Naga Origin Myth.
Adding vibrancy to the occasion were traditional competitions such as rice winnowing, Tholei, Stilt Bamboo Race, and AnguKupusu (Spear Kick), which drew enthusiastic participation.
Earlier the programme began with an opening prayer by vice-principal Dr. MhabemoOdyuo, followed by a welcome note from coordinator of the cultural club Neichüzunuo Rüpreo.
