Modern College, Piphema conducted its first Green Audit on December 11, through Nagaland Pollution Control Board (NPCB).
A press release by the college informed that the audit was organized by IQAC Modern College, where four officials from NPCB, namely Senior Environmental Engineer, Er. Aghali A. Swu, was accompanied by Assistant Environmental Engineer, Er. Kevisede Pucho, Data Entry Operator, Moakumzuk Jamir, and Senior Scientific Assistant, Sentinaro, investigated the campus and its initiatives to maintain eco-friendly and pollution free campus.
Principal Investigator of Botanical Garden, Dr Dandesh Kumar, briefed officials on endangered plant species and practice of vermin-compost and water harvest within the conserved area.
The release informed that officials from NPCB also visited hostels and college cafeteria to observe waste management, while samples of water, both filtered and unfiltered, were also taken for testing, and the campus also undergoing an air quality check.
