The Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC) constituted a committee to select the “Best maintained” three wards of Mokokchung town for the year 2018 under Swachh Bharat Mission activities.
The MMC in a press release stated that the competition was judged according to: a) Cleanliness/sanitation, b) peace & harmony and control of dogs, and c) coordination, cooperation, compliance with authorities.
The winners were honoured at the 47th Annual Christmas Cake Race program on December 24, 2018 by the district SBM chairman, M. Bendang Longkumer in the presence of Metsubo Jamir, minister for Urban Development & Municipal Affairs.
Aongza ward was recognized as the winner and given an award of Rs. 20000, Sunkomen ward came in second and won Rs. 15000, and Sunkomen ward came in third winning Rs. 10000. All the winners also received certificates.
