A National Voluntary Blood Donation Day program was organised by IMDH blood bank Mokokchung in collaboration with DAPCU and MVBDA on October 1 at Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung. A press release by DAPCU Mokokchung stated that MO blood bank, Dr. Chubala, in a speech that highlighted the importance of donating blood, said that donating blood was one of the most significant contributions a person could make to society. Chubala also said that the National Voluntary Blood Donation Day is celebrated to bring change to society in following life saving measures and preventing serious illnesses caused by injuries, child birth related complications and accidents. She further said that blood should not only be donated to relatives and friends but should be given voluntarily as it can save a life. President MVBDA, Molo Jamir motivated the students to donate blood voluntarily and said it did not matter who the donor or receiver was. A donor can be a receiver in the future and a receiver can be a healthy donor in the future, so we should donate blood without any exceptions, he added. The program was chaired by DPO DAPCU, Makshi.
