In a notable recognition for the Mokokchung Photography Club (MPC), Canon India (North East) invited the club to participate in the launch event of the Canon EOS R6 V camera held at Hotel Palacio, Guwahati, on June 20.
Representing the club were MPC members Pokyim Ozukum and Jonathan Ao, both professional Canon camera users. During the event, they shared their perspectives on the growth of photography and the potential of Canon products from the standpoint of Nagaland and the wider Northeast region.
The launch event brought together members of the photography and videography community from across Northeast India, including professional photographers, cinematographers, wedding filmmakers, content creators and photography enthusiasts from Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya and Nagaland.
The programme was attended by senior Canon India officials, including Debmalya Sarkar, Jeevanjyoti Bhattacharya, Biswajit Roy and Prashant Kumar.
A key highlight of the event was a comprehensive product presentation by Anindo Basu, Technical Trainer, Canon India, who demonstrated the advanced features of the newly launched Canon EOS R6 V camera and the RF20-50mm F4L IS USM PZ lens. Participants were given hands-on experience with the equipment and gained insights into its applications in wedding filmmaking, content creation, commercial videography and professional photography.
The event also served as a platform for networking and knowledge exchange, allowing creators from different states of the Northeast to interact, share experiences and discuss emerging trends in photography and filmmaking.
Canon India stated that the initiative reflects its commitment to supporting and empowering the growing community of photographers, videographers and content creators in the region. By bringing together professionals from across the Northeast, the launch event fostered collaboration, creativity and innovation, marking an important occasion for the region’s photography and videography fraternity.
