Mokokchung, Zunheboto Kohima and Chümoukedima District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meetings were held at district headquarters, wherein the members discussed vital issues pertaining to respective districts.
Mokokchung: The monthly Mokokchung DPDB meeting was held ion June 17 with Deputy Commissioner (DC) and vice-chairman, DPDB, Mokokchung, Thsuvisie Phoji as the chairperson of the meeting.
According to a DIPR report, the new DC of Mokokchung welcomed the members and said that he was always ready to sit with any of the members, be it in his Office chamber or Official residence for discussion and to share ideas, if there should be any issues.
While reviewing the last meeting minutes, DFO Mokokchung presented a report on rejuvenation of spring and water bodies, (a programme held during the celebration of World Environment Day) an initiative taken by the chairman DPDB, Mokokchung and line departments of the district.
The meeting also approved the registration of a new society and forwarded it to the government.
Zunheboto: Advisor, Land Resource and chairman Zunheboto DPDB, Ikuto Zhimo said state government set up Nagaland Staff Selection Board (NSSB), as per public demand, to check “random appointments”. Therefore, he urged the people to not blame or criticise NSSB or Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC) but to study hard and qualify the competitive examinations.
According to a DIPR report, the advisor was addressing the Zunheboto DPDB meeting on June 16 at the Conference Hall of Deputy Commissioner (DC). The advisor also applauded the PHE department for carrying out the “Jal Jeevan Abhiyan” scheme very successfully and sincerely. He also applauded the DC and SP team for the timely intervention and for containing the recent unfortunate incident in Zunheboto.
He also advised the Land Resource department to encourage the people to plant more coffee, educate them about how to preserve its quality, export it as Nagaland coffee was rated as the best in the world. Ikuto requested all the head of offices (HoOs)to be in the station and help the public by serving them sincerely, and sensitize them on various central and state schemes.
Kohima: Kohima DPDB monthly meeting-cum-felicitation programme for HSLC examination toppers 2023 amongst the Government High Schools (GHSs) under Kohima district was held on June 15 at DPDB Conference Hall, Kohima.
According to a DIRP report, during the felicitation programme, minister, women resources development & horticulture, Salhoutuonuo Kruse gave away the certificate and cash award to Rahul Roy, Top 1 amongst the GHSs with 93.33% (aggregate mark) from Rüzhükhrie Government Higher Secondary School, Kohima.
Receiving the award, Rahul Roy thanked the district administration and DPDB members for recognizing his efforts. He also thanked his teachers, mentors, and his parents for untiring support for his success. SP Kohima, Imnalensa while highlighting the traffic congestion and the measures taken by the police department in Kohima requested the members to lead the general public by following and adhering to the traffic rules and be a role model for others to follow.
He also sought constructive ideas and suggestions from the members so as to work out mechanisms to ease traffic congestion in Kohima.
In the meeting, the registration of societies and upgradation of schools were discussed. The meeting also deliberated on the issue of cleanliness and proper dumping of garbage where DC requested all the HoOs not to use plastic items and create awareness to the general public of its harm. Chümoukedima: Chümoukedima DPDM monthly meeting was held on June 15 at the Conference Hall of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Chümoukedima office under the chairmanship of advisor, Urban Development & Municipal Affairs, Zhaleo Rio.
According to a DIPR report, during the meeting, the house deliberated on registration of various societies and upgradation of schools, and approved the same.
In a departmental presentation, District Agriculture Officer (DAO), Chümoukedima, Bodevi Shuya highlighted the departmental activities, schemes, grievances, agriculture census and others.
At the meeting, the board also decided that the next DPDB meeting would have a separate board and sub-committee for society registration and school level. Another proposal laid by the house was the acquisition of land for government purposes in Chümoukedima district.
