Social Welfare Department Mon celebrated Poshan Maah 2021 on September 24 at Council Hall Mon, under the theme, “Converging towards a healthy walk through life”.
While briefing on PoshanMaah, supervisor, Mon Block, Ngupya Wangshu stated that the programme aims at reducing malnourishment in children by 2022. Ngupya added that the programme targets 0-6 years, lactating mothers and adolescent girls.
Supervisor, Mon Block, L. Amei Konyak delivered an awareness on Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) where she stressed on the importance of breast feeding. Resource persons of the programme: Block Program Manager, RD Mon Block (NSRLM), S. Yatao Konyak spoke on kitchen gardening; City Coordinator Childline Mon, Eunice Thalih highlighted the emergency services provided by Childline 1098; HIV/TB dots Plus, Supervisor, Loshon, gave a detailed explanation on Tuberculosis and ICTC Counselor, Nyemnyei gave a detailed explanation on HIV Aids.
