Mon district observed the World Population Day (WPD) as a population stabilization fortnight campaign from June 27 to July 24, divided into two phases of the mobilisation week and population fortnight, also called as the family health mela week.
During the camp as the IEC (Information, Education and Communication) team played its role by setting up effective sessions of Inter personal Communication (IPC) and Focus Group Discussions (FGD) in order to give the women, men and couple, a comprehensive information about all contraceptive options and that there was support for personal decision making regarding family planning.
With the slogan, “new wave, new believe – family development through complete responsibility” (Nayi lehar, Naya Vishwas Sampoorn Zimmedari se Parivar Vikas) Mon district completed the fortnight covering 396 IUCD insertions, 150 permanent sterilisation and distributed numerous numbers of temporary contraceptive methods to all the blocks.
