Mon district admin clarifies on recovery of 2 dead bodies

Mon district administration has clarified on the incident that occurred at Angjangyang sub-division under Mon district wherein a Tata Yodha white colour (AS 33C 0941) met with an accident. In a press release, SDO (C) (HQ) & nodal officer, media cell office of DC office Mon, Rongsenmenla stated that a missing complaint was filed by the owner of the vehicle on September 25, 2023 at Aboi police station under Mon district.


Based on the missing complaint, the nodal officer said a search operation led by officer-in-charge, police station was conducted. During the search operation, the nodal officer said missing vehicle and two bodies were retrieved on September 25, 2023 from the accident site, 200feet below the road between Angjangyang and Longching under Mon district. Accordingly, the officer said the due procedure was followed and the postmortem was conducted at District hospital, Mon. After observing all necessary formalities, the bodies were handed over to the family members on September 26, 2023


In this regard, the nodal officer informed all concerned that based on the official reports, the incident occurred on September 25, 2023 was completely a case of unfortunate vehicle accident and no case of foul play was linked with it.


Therefore, district administration Mon has appealed to all concerned to take the note of the fact of the matter and refrain from circulating any misinformation relating to the above-mentioned incident.


Travel advisory
In view of the tense situation arising out at Sonari, Charaideo district of Assam in connection with the unfortunate vehicle accident that occurred at Angjangyang sub-division, Mon district, the deputy commissioner (DC) Mon, Ajit Kumar Verma, through a circular has advised all vehicles engaged in public transport and related activities to refrain from travelling from Mon district to Assam/Dimapur and vice -versa via Sonari, Charaideo, Assam route until situation returned to normalcy.


Further, all the individual/private vehicles planning to travel via Sonari, Charaideo, Assam route have also been advised to avoid taking the mentioned route and to travel via alternate route till the situation normalized.
