DIMAPUR: As part of a joint effort to combat substance abuse, Mon district participated in the “Nasha Mukt Pratigya” programme held at Namtola Playground, Charaideo district, Assam on June 13.
A DIPR report informed that the programme was organised by Charaideo district administration in collaboration with the department of Social Justice and Environment, Assam.
Speaking on behalf of Mon district administration, ADC Tizit, Relise Sangtam, stressed the importance of creating a drug-free society. He pointed out that both Charaideo and Mon are vulnerable to drug issues, and highlighted the need to support addicts through rehabilitation rather than neglect.
He also extended appreciation to the Deputy Commissioner of Charaideo for initiating the campaign and promoting cooperation between the two districts.
The event was attended by officials, youth, and community members from both districts. Activities included a craft mela, health camp, traditional games, cultural performances, and a friendly football match between Mon and Charaideo teams, promoting unity and youth engagement.
