Minister for Transport, Civil Aviation, Railways, and Land Resources, P Paiwang Konyak, has announced that the total lockdown of Mon district would be relaxed from July 15, 2020.
The minister, who held a review meeting with district administration, police, medical department, civil society groups, Church organisations and others, on July 14, 2020 at Walo Guest House Mon, however, said that strict regulations have to be adhered to during the unlock period. Konyak said that people adhering to regulations would be a positive movement and would bring behavioural change in the society. In this regard, the minister announced that Mon would be launching a social behavioural change model/concept very shortly. “This Social Behavioural Change Concept will be effective and applicable even in the rural areas,” the minister said, adding that every household should take up farming for self reliance. In view of the lifting of total lockdown from July 15, the administration has also notified guidelines to be enforced in the whole Mon district till further orders.
