Acting on input received from “reliable sources”, Mon police personnel seized 119.17 grams (approximate) of suspected heroin “sunflower” on May 21 and May 28 in three separate occasions and arrested four persons.
In a press release, additional SP and PRO Mon police, Ilam Lungalang on May 21, a team of Mon police seized a soap case and six tobacco containers containing suspected heroin weighing 18 grams from the possession of two persons namely Phongwang (43) son of Haomong of Kenchenshu Village and presently residing at Wajiem Ward, Mon Town, and Khampei (33) son of Apon of Longwa Village. On the same day, the team also arrested Monjeak (25) son of Tohpha of Mon Village and seized four boxes of suspected heroin weighing 54.17 grams from his possession.
PRO informed that on May 28, a team of Mon police personnel seized four boxes of suspected heroin weighing 47 grams from the possession of John Konyak (43) son of late Yayuk Konyak of Mon Village and present resident of Chingai Ward Mon Town.
