Monolith erected for ASU branch office

Several Angami students in their traditional finery Saturday joined the traditional stone pulling ceremony followed by erection of monolith for the proposed branch office of Angami Students Union (ASU) at Chiimoukedima.
The site for ASU branch office was donated by the traditional land owners of Chiimoukedima (Thepfii Thepfii Krotho).
Dedicating the monolith, Reverend Lhouzovi-u Shiiya prayed that this mission represents sound foundation to ensure better understanding and unity amongst the Angamis.
Angami Public Organization (APO) advisor Keneingunyu Sekhose was appreciative of the land owners for donating the land for the good cause of the Angami student community.  He also urged upon ASU to utilize the provided land in a meaningful way and turn the good gesture of the land owners into a beneficial and worthiness.
Further, Sekhose was optimistic that this would go a long way in strengthening unity and better understanding among the Angamis in particular and Nagas in general.
ASU president Zakie Khate maintained that its ambitious plan to have branch office in Chiimoukedima since the past 9 to 10 years has been fulfilled today through the generous gesture of the land owners.Terming it as a milestone in the history of the union, Khate said ASU will remain ever grateful to the land owners.  He also said that through the laying of the foundation, it intends to inspire and enhance their vision for greater heights in the face of the challenges encountered in the present times.
Chakhroma Public Organization (CPO) president P.Beituo Hama also termed the gesture as a milestone and called for collective responsibility to accomplish the great task ahead. Chiimoukedima Village Council chairman Razouvoto Chatsu said a good beginning has been made today by erecting a monolith and called upon different Angami frontal organizations to give a concerted effort to expedite the task, especially in construction of the branch office. Representatives from Naga StudentsFederation, Angamimiapfii Mechii Krotho and well wishers also graced the occasion.
Earlier, customary incantation was done by Viselie Shiiya while ASU advisor Voto Neikha chaired the function. Vote of thanks was proposed by ASU appropriations council chairman Khrielievi Chiisi. Meanwhile, ASU expressed their sincere apology to the pedestrians and travelers for inconvenience caused in process of the programme along the National Highway.
