Monsoon preparedness meet in Chümoukedima

DIMAPUR: District Disaster Management Authority, Chümoukedima, convened its first quarterly meeting and monsoon preparedness session on May 14 at the conference hall of the deputy commissioner’s office. The meeting was chaired by DC Polan John and attended by heads of departments along with representatives from various agencies.
The session focused on preparedness measures and coordinated strategies ahead of the monsoon season, stressing the importance of inter departmental cooperation and timely action to safeguard public safety and minimise risks. Departments presented their respective action plans covering disaster response mechanisms, flood prevention, road connectivity, power supply management, healthcare readiness, water supply, food and essential commodities, and other emergency arrangements.
Participating departments included the chief medical officer, Dimapur; executive engineer (Power); executive engineer PHED; district civil supplies officer; chief veterinary officer, veterinary & animal husbandry; executive engineers PWD (R&B) and PWD (NH); general manager NHIDCL; and superintending engineer, investigation cell, water resources department, Chümoukedima.
