
The month-long Poshan Maah campaign conducted under Rashtriya Poshan Abhiyaan culminated on September 30, wherein various activities were conducted for lactating mothers, pregnant women, adolescent girls related to importance of nutrition.
Kiphire: Poshan Maah culmination programme-cum-mela was held at MARCOFED marketing shed Longkhim town with additional deputy commissioner Longkhim, Kikumsungla Jamir as special guest, Wednesday. While inaugurating the closing ceremony, ADC said that through this month long programme people of target group like 0-6 years, lactating mothers and pregnant women had benefited. CDPO Longkhim, C.Tsalito Sangtam highlighted on the month long celebration of Poshan Maah and its benefits for the people. Programme was chaired by supervisor Phungpila Sangtam while pastor LTBL Likhum invoked God’s blessing. (Correspondent)
Dimapur: Programme on Poshan Maah organised by Nehru Yava Kendra, Dimapur in collaboration with DPRO and NSS, was held at youth hostel Dimapur. Founder and director Wings Training Solution, Dip highlighted various schemes initiated by the government and called for creating awareness. Debasis highlighted the objectives of Rashtriya Poshan Abhiyaan.
Programme was chaired by Kichuye Keppen while vote of thanks was proposed by Ketounyu. Function was attended by members of NYK and NSS, Dimapur.
Wokha: Cooking competition conducted in collaboration with Wokha and Chukitong block, Social Welfare was held at Blue Hill Colony, Wokha on September 30.
According to DIPR report, 8 teams of Anganwadi workers took part and judges for the competition were EAC, Wokha Imtinungula Longkumar, Dr. Khelito Zhimomi, DPO (RCH/UPI) nodal officer Poshan and SIS, FNHW, gender area coordinator R. Nzanbeni. DC Wokha, Orenthung Lotha gracing as special guest, appealed all persons involved in this scheme to rededicate themselves and give their best in terms of educating the people about the importance of nutrition. State project management unit (SPMU) team Kohima, Dr. Yongya Chiangmak lauded the efforts put in by Wokha team.
Tsumang & Etsuchuka colonies bagged the first prize, while Blue Hill, PWD and Church Colony and Vungojoju, Molontsu and GHSS got the second and third respectively and awarded with cash. Function was chaired by CDPO, Wokha, Myanlumo Lotha, welcome address by district coordinator Poshan Abhiyaan, Shanjothung Ngullie while district project assistant Poshan Abhiyaan, Annie Lotha gave vote of thanks.
Mokokchung: Under the initiatives of Department of Social Welfare, closing programme of Poshan Maah 2020 was held at Penli panchayat hall, Mokokchung. As part of the programme, a painting competition on the theme “identification of SAM/MAM” and “development of kitchen garden in AWC” was held, where students from different schools participated.
Peren: Programme was organised by department of Social Welfare, Peren under the theme “Identification of SAM/MAM children, development of kitchen garden in AWC” and held at DC’s conference hall, Peren.
DC Peren, Sentiwapang Aier handed over certificate of appreciation to different individuals from Anganwadi centres for their active participation. Recipients of the award included AWC (E), Jalukie town Igwetzeule, AWC (2), Benreu Village Lungramyile, AWC Beisamlwa Idosi, AWC (A), Tening Village Nkamlakge, AWC (D), Nzauna Comely, Poshan coordination Peren Dunwibo and Poshan coordination Jalukie Pauram Zeliang. Programme was chaired by CDPO Tening, Yanbeni Humtsoe, while report on Peren district was delivered by CDPO Ahthibung, Mangliyanba Longkumer and vote of thanks by Watila.
Tuensang: Closing ceremony was held at CKS hall Tuensang, with DC Tuensang, Kumar Ramnikant as the special guest. DC said that NNM was of the most important national project and putting the same effort could achieve a lot in child and women health of the district.
SBP Tuensang, P.H. Ramaikalo highlighted the entire exercise of Poshan Maah. DC also gave away prizes of Poshan Maah online competitions.
Under photography, Adekhing Mongzar secured first position, Sujemla (second) and Chimengkaiba Chang (third). Under painting L Mukom secured the first position, Imtiyangla and Chongshen Kejong second and third respectively while for slogan, L Themsao bagged the first position, Khumtila Sangtam second and Maniu third position. Earlier, DPO ICDS Tuensang, Chotsase Sangtam gave welcome note while district coordinator, Thungpang gave vote of thanks.
Bhandari: ICDS Bhandari held a block level culmination- cum-cooking competition programme with the theme, “better nutrition, better health” on September 29 at town hall, Bhandari. SDO civil, Bhandari, Sulanthung highlighted on the importance of organic food and nutritious balanced diet.
Nutritious food cooking competition was held whereby Bhandari Town Eloe Hoho was declared the winner and Anganwadi workers team and Banana Self Help Group were declared runners up. CDPO, Bhandari, TY PeterYanthan delivered the welcome address.
Lazami: Ghathashi ICDS celebrated Poshan Maah under the supervision of Social Welfare department in convergence with Medical department under Pughoboto sub-division at Lazami village. CDPO Chiro in his keynote address spoke on the importance of Poshan, block co-ordinator, Vikito stressed on the importance of organic foods while Dr Alivis spoke on the importance of organic foods and how to care the malnourished children.
Earlier, Medical department distributed free medicines to pregnant women and nursing mothers. Programme was chaired by supervisor, Mghatovi.
