Zunheboto District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) held its monthly meeting on October 8 in the conference hall of the deputy commissioner (DC) under the chairmanship of DC and vice chairman DPDB, Peter Lichamo. According to a DIPR report, during the meeting, DC reiterated the submission of departmental activity report to every department before the next board sitting. The board approved and forwarded a proposal received for registration of Sumi Baptist Church Zunheboto.
The members discussed and recommended the change of nomenclature of Apukito Government High School to Khehoto Memorial Government High School, under Atoizu, Zunheboto district and upgradation of health sub-centre at Lumami to Primary Health Centre.
DC also reminded responsible departments for the submission of 5-year plan under aspirational block before October 16. Peter Lichamo on behalf of the entire board members bid farewell to the outgoing district statistical officer (DSO) Lhokiye Sema and thanked him for his contributions towards the society and the district.
Tuensang: Tuensang DPDB meeting was held on October 7 under the chairmanship of DC and vice chairman, DPDB Tuensang, Kumar Ramnikant. The member discussed the forthcoming by-election 58A/C Shamator-Chessore constituency. In this regard, DC advised HoDs to take keen interest in the directive duties and also asked them to guide their staffs to be ready on call of duty Proposal for financial assistant by Chang Students’ Union Tuensang to conduct a programme on “say no to drugs programme” was also discussed. The house decided to collect free will collection on department wise for which Dr. John was designated as nodal officer.
Meanwhile, proposal to change the nomenclature of Sotokur by village council Sotukur was also discussed and the house agreed to forward for the government approval. The agenda of registration of Government Employees Union Chingmonger Village was discussed and considered to forward as proposed while the registration of Traditional Healers Association Tuensang was also discussed and decided to forward to the medical department to research and verify it before forwarding for approval.
Peren: The monthly Peren DPDB meeting was held on October 6 under the chairmanship of DC Peren and DPDB vice-chairman, Sentiwapang Aier.
In the meeting, the following agendas were deliberated: constitution of SDG Cell; 5-year action plan for Tening aspirational block; public parks (DPR) committee; naming of roads in honour of Captain Kengurüse; and construction of multi-purpose building at GHSS Jalukie. The house also approved registration of Lungziu Development Organisation during the meeting and decided to forward the proposal to the government for further course of action. SDO, PWD (R&B), Peren sub-division-cum-convener for 7th inter-departmental badminton tournament, Asembe Mbungcha informed the house that the tournament was scheduled to be held from November 5-6. He also informed that further requirements and formalities would be made known later.
Meanwhile, state director in-charge NYKS, John Makhoba while highlighting on action plan of Clean India programme said that key activities of the programme were collection of plastic waste, single plastic use, village beautification drives, etc. DC Peren said the success of the programme of such magnitude to a large extent depends on effective participation of stake holding ministries, departments and agencies. As entrusted by board members in the previous meeting, an overview PowerPoint presentation on departmental activities was presented by DPO (LRD), Alemla Aier.
Longleng: Longleng DPDB meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Longleng, M. Shayung Phom on October 6. DC informed clarified that the oxygen plant which was to be setup at district hospital could not be done due to lack of adequate space at the district hospital. He further clarified that inauguration of oxygen plant was a time bound arrangement by the government and therefore, shifting was done at the nearest hospital to the district hospital as suggested by H&FW department.
ADC Longleng & president OCL, D. Robin highlighted the status of the Officers’ Club, Longleng and apprised the members that the club failed to organise programmes as expected due to lockdown. He however announced that forthcoming underage inter-state badminton tournament would be hosted by Longleng and therefore, in order to encourage and boost the youth, he asserted that the inter-departmental badminton tournament Longleng would be organised by Officer’s Club during the last of November to first week of December 2021. He also informed new members to register their names and submit registration fees along with annual membership to the treasurer and urged other club members to submit their annual membership. Meanwhile, SDPO Longleng & treasurer, OCL, Impung Chang highlighted the activities conducted by the club. The board recommended for change of nomenclature of GPS (C) Orangkong to GPS Hamlikong after briefing on the matter by the SDEO, Longleng citing that NOC and clearance was produced by VEC Orangkong village. Assistant Programme Coordinator (RD), Longleng, Tongpang presented the activities of the Rural development department, Longleng through a PowerPoint presentation.
He also apprised members that the National Level Monitoring team (NLM) would be visiting Longleng on October 9 and requested line departments to be in the station. The departmental activities for next DPDB would be presented by power department in the next meeting.
New members were also introduced at the meeting.
