The monthly meeting of the Sub-Divisional Planning and Development Board (SDPDB), Bhandari was held on October 16 at the conference hall of the Summer House-Cum-Guest House, Bhandari, Wokha.
According to a DIPR report, the meeting was chaired by SDO (C) Bhandari, Arhomo Yanthan, who reviewed the minutes of the previous DPDB meeting. During the session, SDO PWD (R&B), Bhandari Sub-division, Er. Elithung Ovung, informed the house that three bridges along the Nagaland Foothill Road have been completed, while construction of two additional bridges is currently underway.
Deliberations also included the proposal to upscale Baghty Sub-treasury to serve as the financial centre for Bhandari Division. The chairperson urged all concerned departments to submit representations to their respective head offices to facilitate the appointment of drawing and disbursing officers (DDOs) for improved financial operations.
Veterinary Assistant Surgeon (VAS), Quarantine Check Post, Merapani, Dr. Kikali G. Sumi, reported that the suspected outbreak of African Swine Fever first detected in August 2025 has been brought under control. She stated that no new cases have been reported and recommended lifting the ban imposed earlier, while advising continued public vigilance and prompt reporting of any suspected symptoms.
Action taken reports on Aspirational Blocks Villages under Bhandari were submitted by SDO Soil & Water Conservation, Nzanbeni N. Jami; Senior Medical Officer, CHC Bhandari, Dr. Caroline; and Dr. Kikali G. Sumi. They briefed the house on ongoing departmental activities and progress in their respective sectors.
The meeting concluded with discussions on developmental priorities and inter-departmental coordination for effective implementation of government programmes in the sub-division.
