Governor: State Governor, PB Acharya, has condemned the incident at Dimapur on February 24, wherein one Naga girl was allegedly raped by one Syed Sirf Khan. While condemning the incident, the Governor requested all sections of the society to maintain peace and harmony. Although the crime is in the nature of heinous, the Governor appealed to let the law enforcing agencies take necessary action against the culprits and book them as per the law. Stating that violence is not the answer for any problem, the Governor asked the law enforcing agencies to take necessary action to punish the culprits. The Governor also condemned the killing of a minor boy at the disputed border area at Uriumghat in Golaghat district of Assam.
MHD: Mao Hoho Dimapur has condemned the heinous crime of rape committed to a Naga lady by an IBI on February 24 in Dimapur. Such inhuman crime committed is an insult to our society, our own brothers and sisters and to the humanity, the hoho president K Lokha said. The Hoho condemns the act in the strongest term and joined hands with all responsible citizens to fight against such crime against humanity with no mercy.
DPO, DWWS: Dimasa Public Organization and Dimasa Women Welfare Society, have strongly condemned the rape of a local lady by Md. Sayed Khan on February 24 night, and termed act of the culprit as too daring and beyond tolerance of any local people. It has demanded severe punishment to the rapist by the fast tract court or handed over the rapist for judgement according to customary laws. It appealed all not to rent houses or stalls for shop to IBIs.
CNTC, CNSA: Central Nagaland Tribal Council and the Central Nagaland Students’ Association have vehemently condemned the rape committed by Sayed Sirf Khan. The two organizations have demanded thorough investigation into the matter and award befitting punishment as per the provision of law.
KSSU: Kohima Sumi Students’ Union (KSSU), while condemning the rape, has demanded exemplary punishment. It said such crime committed by illegal Bangladeshis against the Nagas have become regular in our own land. It has urged the government for a strong legislation to effectively tackle the menace of IBIs for the sake of posterity.
WSTH: Western Sumi Kukami Hoho (WSKH), in condemning the February 24 rape incident, said it was not the first time that an outsider had committed such heinous crime on Naga women. Stating that such beastly acts should not be allowed to happen in Naga society, WSKH has urged all sections of the Naga society to denounce the incident and ensure befitting and exemplary punishment to the culprit.
DFoN: Condemning the incident in strongest terms, Dream Foundation of Nagaland (DFoN) said Naga people should wake up and address the alarming situation that is confronting the Naga society. DFoN chairman Sukhai Zhimomi has urged the Nagas to stand together and fight for justice against the act of rape on Naga woman by an outsider.
DHHS: Dimabang Halali Hosom (Society) of Dimapur, while condemning the rape of a Naga lady by one IBI Sayed Sirf Khan, appeal to all the apex bodies, NGOs, hohos, women organization, student bodies and right thinking citizens to join hands to eradicate the criminal activities by the Illegal Immigrant in Nagaland. It has also supported the Survival Nagaland movement in tackling the issues of IBIs in Nagaland.
MBF: Manik Bhattacharjee Foundation, Dimapur, while condemning the February 24 rape incident, said the entire society should raise voice against such nefarious activities on any one irrespective of his/her background. It has urged the administration and the law enforcing agencies to award befitting punishment. It further appealed to all the right-thinking citizens to condemn such anti-social elements and inhuman activities in the civilized society.
KVC: Kirha Village Council has strongly condemned the heinous crime committed to a Naga girl in by an IBI. KVC request the law enforcing agency to award stern punishment to the culprit so that nobody would dare to commit such heinous crime in future.
NBS: Nagaland Bhojpuri Samaj (NBS) said such heinous crime is not at all acceptable in a civilized society. NBS further appealed to the concerned authority to award the culprit with severe most punishment at the earliest. The Samaj also express its sympathy to the victim and her family.
SOUD: Sumi Officers Union Dimapur (SOUD), while condemning the February 24 incident, where a Naga girl was brutally raped and her life threatened by Syed Srif Khan. It has termed the incident ‘unfortunate’ that the Nagas are being treated in this manner by people who illegally immigrate, settle in our land, exploit our people and are now even going to the extent of raping our womenfolk . SOUD has apprised the authority to take stringent action against the culprit and his accomplice.
STH: Sumi Totimi Hoho (STH) has stated that such acts find no place in Naga society and demanded for strictest of actions and award befitting judgment on the accused as per the law of the land. STH further stated that it supported the movement being pursued by Naga civil society groups, student bodies and other organizations and their demands for delivery of justice to the victim.
