Rajya Sabha MP, K.G. Kenye and former Nagaland Legislative Assembly speaker, Thenucho Tunyi have expressed sadness over the sudden demise of former legislator of 11 Northern Angami-II assembly constituency, Chupfuo Kense, who passed away after a brief illness on August 17.
K.G. Kenye: In a condolence message, Rajya Sabha MP, K. G. Kenye described late Chupfuo as a man of an upright and of high moral integrity, who had immensely and tirelessly rendered his selfless service towards the welfare of Naga people as member of NLA for two tenures. Kenye said, on his departure, the Naga people had lost a prominent leader, a mentor and a refined personality. “His exemplary life and contributions towards the well-being of our people will remain as a testimony for all times to come”, he added.
Kenye along with his family members extended deepest condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed that the Almighty God grant timely solace and comfort to bear the pain at this moment of grief and sorrow. He further prayed that the departed soul rest in eternal peace.
Thenucho Tunyi: In a condolence message, Tunyi has described late Chupfuo as a “kind hearted man with a sharp wit”, who would be remembered as a seasoned politician and an active social worker, having served the people with the best of his abilities. Tunyi reminded that during late Chupfuo’s most active years as a politician, he had the privilege of witnessing him withstand tremendous pressure during a time of political upheaval, who stood firm and was steadfast in his allegiance despite the many enticements from opposing political parties.
While stating that late Chupfuo’s contributions were many, Tunyi added that his most significant ones have been perhaps toward the Christian mission of the church, who donated a sizeable plot of land at Dimapur for the construction of a prayer centre which has served the spiritual needs of many believers. Tunyi lamented they lost a prominent leader and a generous man. During this time of grief, he prayed that God almighty would grant peace and comfort to the bereaved family and wished for the departed soul rest in peace.
