More organisations and legislator continue to mourn the demise of former president of Sumi Hoho, Dr. Hokishe Yepthomi, who passed away on July 29 at Eden Hospital, Dimapur.
KT Sukhalu: In his condolence message, advisor, F&CS, Legal Metrology & Consumer Protection, and chairman ULB & Village Council Committee, K Tokugha Sukhalu, stated that late Hokishe was a bold and outspoken man, who had the courage to speak on issues for all Nagas, especially in regard to political solution and maintenance of peace and harmony among Naga family.
He said that late Dr. Hokishe worked for preservation of Naga custom, culture and literature and advocated the cause on various public platforms.
Sukhalu along with his wife offered heartfelt condolence to late Dr. Hokishe’s family members at this hour of loss and grief and prayed that the Almighty grant comfort and solace at this hour of grief and prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.
NTC: Nagaland Tribes Council (NTC) stated that late Dr. Hokishe was one of the founding members of NTC since its inception, an architect of its Constitution, and remained as the senior most advisor of NTC.
“NTC owe him so much for his dedication, his commitment and his contributions to build up this apex body of the Nagas with his heart and soul”, it stated.
NTC shared the grief and sorrow at the passing away of such a towering fatherly figure of the Naga people, and prayed that the Almighty God grant family with peace, strength and hope at this time of grief.
WSKH: Western Sumi Kukami Hoho (WSKH) in a condolence message, stated that late Dr. Hokishe embodied spirit of dedication, wisdom and selflessness, adding that his demise is a great loss not only for Sumi community but for entire Naga society.
WSKH further extended heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.
