More government nominees for ULBs take oath

Six newly appointed government nominee members of Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) were administered the oath of affirmation, conducted under Section 60A (1) of the Nagaland Municipal Act, 2023.


In his address, Deputy Commissioner, Kumar Ramnikant, welcomed the newly appointed members and congratulated them expressing optimism for the future of the Council.
Chairman of Kohima Municipal Council, Councillor Neikhozo Suokhrie, also addressed the gathering, and described the event as a milestone and shared his vision for the newly constituted team.


He further emphasized the responsibility that comes with their roles, acknowledging the challenges of being new to their positions.


However, he affirmed the readiness to face the road ahead with dedication and commitment. The six newly appointed government nominees for Kohima Municipal Council are Vilaseto Soleho, Keneisezo, Thejapfutuo Khezhie, Dziesekhonuo, Vitso Rio and Kezhazer Angami.


In Niuland, three newly appointed government nominee members of Niuland Town Council took oath at DC’s conference hall, Niuland on January 27.


Deputy Commissioner Niuland, Sara S. Jamir administered the oath and highlighted the roles, responsibility and limitation on the power of the government nominee members of Nagaland Municipal Act. The program was chaired by ADC & EO, Niuland, S Athsangla.
