More organisations have condemned the alleged rape and murder of a woman, whose body was found in Pimla area under Chumoukedima district on April 7.
ASTD: The Ao Senso Telongjem Dimapur (ASTD) has condemned the inhuman act of rape and brutal murder of a 35-year-old woman from Mhaikam village. ASTD said that such gruesome act was not only crime and violence against woman but against the very principle of humanity, adding that the existence of such brutal crime in the society is utterly unacceptable and unforgivable.
ASTD stated that the severity of this case should be dealt with iron hands and the perpetrators should be made to undergo the highest form of punishment as per the law.
The union further extended their support and stand in solidarity with the bereaved family and community and urged the competent authority to deliver speedy justice and accountability for the horrific rape and murder at the earliest, as justice delayed is justice denied.
DAYO: Dimapur Ao Youth Organization (DAYO) was shocked and saddened by the inhuman and senseless murder of a mother from Mhaikam village. While condemning the incident, DAYO said such barbaric heinous crime has never been a part of the Naga culture, adding such brutal crime can never be justified whoever it maybe.
During such tragic time, DAYO stands in solidarity with the victim’s family, friends and community. DAYO urged the law enforcing agencies to continue their thorough investigation to bring the perpetrators to justice. DAYO called upon all citizens to assist in any way possible to solve this homicide case without any bias or favour.
WCMA: Western Chekhesang Mother’s Association (WCMA) expressed shock and anguish by the brutal and inhuman act of rape and murder of a woman from Zeliang community at Pimla Village under Chumukidima district.
While condemning the heinous act in the strongest possible terms, WCMA decried the violence against women. The body urged the law enforcing agency for justice and called for immediate action against the perpetrator. WCMA stand in solidarity and conveyed its condolence with the bereaved family and prayed for the eternal rest of the departed soul.
ZCNEI: Zeme Council Northeast India (ZCNEI) expressed its strongest condemnation and outrage over the recent suspected rape and murder of an innocent young woman from Mhaikam village, Peren district.
The Zeme apex body of Assam, Manipur, and Nagaland termed the brutal nature of the crime, as a slap in the face to their values of compassion, empathy, and respect for human life.
ZCNEI urged the concerned authorities to take immediate action to investigate the crime, apprehend the perpetrator, and ensure justice was served.
The Council also demanded a thorough, transparent and swift investigation, with the perpetrator held accountable and punished accordingly.
It further called on all responsible citizens to pressure law enforcement agencies to take swift, decisive action and work toward creating safer and more just society.
The Council further expressed its solidarity with the victim’s family and added that the community would continue working toward creating a society where women and girls can live without fear of violence and exploitation.
ZLSU: Zeliang Students’ Union Nagaland (ZLSU) expressed shock and was devastated by the horrific and cold-blooded murder of a young and innocent mother, at Mhaikam village.
The student body stated that such despicable and barbaric act was not only a direct assault on human dignity but also a chilling reminder of the depravity that can exist within society.
While condemning the heinous, cowardly, and inhuman act in the strongest possible terms, ZLSU pointed that such savagery must not be allowed to fester in any society governed by law, conscience, and compassion, and demanded that the concerned authorities act without delay, deploying every resource to identify, arrest, and deliver the harshest punishment permissible by law to every individual involved in this monstrous crime.
It also urged every right-thinking citizen to rise above fear and stand united in condemning this vile act, and pointed that the student body would not remain silent in the face of such evil.
ZLSU further expressed its deepest sorrow and extended heartfelt solidarity to the grieving family during this dark and painful time.
AYFD: Ao Youth Forum Diphupar (AYFD) vehemently condemned the heinous act of violence following the recent incident of rape and murder of a woman of Mhaikam village that has shaken the community.
The forum stated that rape is not just a crime against an individual, but a crime against humanity, and demanded that perpetrators be held accountable for their actions through the legal system.
“Let this be a moment of reckoning—a line drawn clearly against silence, complicity, and inaction”, the release stated, adding that the youth of this country would not stand idle when their sisters, friends, and peers continue to suffer such brutality. It added that AYFD stand united, and would continue to raise voices until justice is served and meaningful change is enacted.
DLEE: Dimapur Lotha Eloe Ekhung (DLEE) condemned the brutal rape and murder of a young mother from Mhaikam village. DLEE appealed to all right-thinking citizen to condemn the heinous act of crime pointing that it has no place in the present Naga society, and further called upon law enforcement authorities to ensure transparent investigation to immediately apprehend and identify the perpetrators, and book the culprit as per the law for committing the crime.
DLEE further shared heartfelt condolences to the victim family and prayed that the Almighty grant them strength and courage to overcome their sorrows.
NSWON: National Socialist Women’s Organization of Nagalim (NSWON) expressed shock on the beastly act of rape and murder of a young mother from Mkaikam village.
The organization stated that such crime committed against a woman was really disturbing as no woman deserves to face such kind of tragic end.
“As woman, we feel ashamed of man to have this mentality to commit such violence against woman. Such crime against women are a social menace that we done want to let it happen again and again”, the release stated.
NSWOM expressed hope that the law enforcement authority spare no effort to track down the real culprit. The organization also shared its thoughts and prayers to the bereaved family members.
WSKH: Western Sumi Kukami Hoho (WSKH) expressed shock and dismayed over the discovery of the body of a mother who was allegedly assaulted sexually, murdered, and left in a forested area near Pimla village.
WSKH stated that the inhuman and heinous act has enraged the very conscience of the Hoho and condemned the act. It added that there was no place for such acts of monstrosity in the society and the perpetrators deserve the highest punishment, and urged upon the law enforcing agencies to apprehend the culprits at the earliest and bring to justice.
The hoho further expressed its deepest condolences to the bereaved family and extended solidarity to the community of the deceased who faced immense loss and suffering.
NGMA: Nagaland Garo Mothers’ Association (NGMA) expressed deep shock and outrage at the suspected rape and brutal murder of a young innocent mother at Pimla village under Chumoukedima district.
While vehemently condemning the heinous crime, NGMA said that this kind of act is total inhumane and barbarian that deserve one of the highest and severest punishment, stating that such act has no place in their civilized society, which must be condemned by one and all.
The association requested the law enforcing agencies to swiftly investigate and nab the person behind this devilish act and award severest punishment as per the law of the land.
NGMA further prayed that the departed soul rest in eternal peace and also prayed the Lord Almighty give strength to the bereaved family members to bear this pain.
ZBN: Zeliangrong Baudi Nagaland (ZBN) on discrete observation and finding outrightly condemned the gruesome murdered of a 35-yr-old mother at Pimla- Mhaikam areas. The Baudi expressed its strongest tone of condemnation to such a strange crime committed to a woman that has rang a bell of threats to the Naga society.
The Baudi stated that such a strange and brute bestial behavior could not be tolerated and culprit whoever be should be given extreme penalty for an all-time lesson. They said that the state intelligence agencies together with national departments should probe into the matter and dig out the culprit and lessons must be made in open public society.
The Baudi on behalf of Zeliangrong people conveyed its deep condolences to bereaved family, relative and village community assuring their fullest cooperation with the villagers and state agencies to hunt down the culprit at the earliest.
The Baudi said that the culprit must be given exemplary penalty till justice is satisfactorily demonstrated and prayed for the departed soul find rest in the loving arms of Jesus.
KSUD: Konyak Students’ Union Dimapur (KSUD) has expressed anguish and outrage over the horrifying and tragic incident involving its sister from Mhaikam village, Peren district, whose lifeless body was discovered within the jurisdiction of Pimla village.
KSUD said the brutality of the act, suspected to be sexual violence followed by murder, are both appalling and deeply disturbing, striking at the core of their collective humanity.
They stated that this act was not just a crime against one individual, it was a grave injustice against every woman’s right to live in safety and dignity. KSUD called upon the law enforcement agencies to leave no stone unturned in bringing the perpetrator(s) to justice. “Swift and uncompromising action must follow, not only to punish the guilty but to restore public trust and reaffirm the value of every human life”, it added.
In this time of deep sorrow, the union stands in heartfelt solidarity with the grieving family and the entire Zeliang community.
They also stand in firm solidarity with all who seek justice and raise a united voice with every community demanding truth and accountability. KSUD also called upon all right-thinking citizens to remain vigilant and to extend cooperation to the authorities so that justice is not denied.
They assured to continue monitoring the developments closely and will stand ready to take peaceful and democratic steps to ensure that justice is served on time.
