DIMAPUR: More organisations like ENPO, Naga Hoho and NTUCT have condemned that July 13 suspected IED blast in Chümoukedima district where it claimed the live of one Assam Rifles personnel and five others injured.
ENPO: The Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) has expressed deep sorrow and concern over the recent suspected IED blast in Chümoukedima, which claimed the life of an Assam Rifles personnel and left several others injured.
In a statement, ENPO unequivocally condemned all acts of violence that threaten peace, security and the well-being of citizens. It said such incidents only deepen suffering, create fear among the people and hinder collective aspirations for a peaceful and prosperous future. Reaffirming its commitment to peace since declaring Eastern Nagaland a Peace Zone, ENPO stressed that the values of peace must transcend geographical boundaries, noting that lasting peace is indivisible and essential for the well-being of all Nagas.
The organisation appealed to every section of Naga society to nurture unity, reconciliation and mutual respect, emphasizing that differences should be addressed through peaceful dialogue and democratic means. It urged all stakeholders to rise above divisions, mistrust, marginalisation and discrimination, and to strengthen bonds of brotherhood to deny space to forces seeking to disrupt peaceful coexistence.
At this difficult moment, ENPO extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family of the deceased personnel and conveyed prayers for the speedy recovery of the injured. It expressed confidence that competent authorities will conduct a fair and thorough investigation and take appropriate action in accordance with the law.
The organisation further appealed to citizens to remain calm, exercise restraint and uphold the values of peace, compassion and harmony.
Naga Hoho: Naga Hoho has strongly condemned the heinous IED blast in Chümoukedima district, stating that there is no place for those responsible for such acts in a civilized society.
In a press release from Naga Hoho president Sulanthung Lotha stated that one Assam Rifles personnel was killed and four others were injured after a suspected improvised explosive device (IED) exploded near Assam Rifles convoy on July 13.
Condemning the attack, the Naga Hoho expressed its deepest condolences to the bereaved family and wished a speedy recovery to the injured personnel. The organisation reiterated that violence has no place in a peaceful and civilized society and urged all concerned to uphold peace and stability in the region.
The Hoho also called upon both state governments and Assam Rifles to intervene immediately and take prompt action to prevent any further deterioration of the peaceful atmosphere in Nagaland.
NTUCT: The Naga Tribal Union Chümoukedima Town (NTUCT) has strongly condemned the recent blast at Chümoukedima ‘A’ in Chümoukedima district, which claimed the life of an Assam Rifles personnel and injured four others. In a condemnation issued by president I Nungsang Jamir and general secretary Amen Kuotsu described the act as “cowardly and heinous,” calling it an assault on peace, public safety and democratic values. The organisation urged law enforcement agencies to conduct a thorough investigation and bring the perpetrators to justice.
NTUCT extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family of the deceased personnel and conveyed prayers for the speedy recovery of the injured.
