Several organisations have condemned the July 25 incident, wherein special operations team (SOT) of Dimapur police/women police and civilians traveling in a private vehicle ran over and killed motorcyclist identified as Ngukavi of Tokugha Village under Kuhuboto sub-division.
WSSU: Western Sumi Students’ Union has strongly condemned the tragic incident. WSSU president, Kabo G. Zhimomi in a press statement stated that the union endorses the demands of the bereaved family, frontal organizations and community to deliver swift justice for the family through fair investigation. The WSSU has expressed deepest condolences to the bereaved family.
WSYF: Western Sumi Youth Front through a press statement has reiterated its demand that all individuals involved in the unlawful encounter be brought before law and face the consequences of their action. WSYF has also urged the law enforcement agencies to show no complacency in bringing the impending matter to its conclusion.
WSYF has also expressed disgust by the news of abduction, robbery and sexual assault on women on the night of July 22. WSYF has strongly condemned the heinous acts of crime and calls for swift and impartial action by the law enforcement on the perpetrator of the crime.
TVC: Tokuqha Village Council has strongly condemned the July 25 incident. TVC chairman, Phutoshe Aye through a press statement has informed that the TVC, GBs and the public demand immediate and transparent action to investigate the incident thoroughly so that the victim is brought to justice.
