
Assam Rifles Kiphire, 1 Nagaland Girls Bn NCC and Sainik School Punglwa (SSP), on September 29, celebrated ‘Parakram Parv’, the 2nd anniversary of India’s surgical strikes across the LoC.
Assam Rifles Kiphire: Kiphire Battalion of Assam Rifles observed Parakram Parv on the occasion of the second anniversary of the surgical strikes by the Indian Army. The event was conducted at Government High School, Kiphire which was attended by 300 students and teaching staff. A lecture and screening of the movie on surgical strikes followed by a weapon display was also conducted.
The special attraction of the event was the “selfie point” where children were able to take photographs and selfies with soldiers in tactical gear, Assam Rifles ceremonial dress and camouflage gear.
The students expressed their gratitude to forces by signing the canvas board and penning down their messages. The event concluded with a group photograph of students with the soldiers. A musical evening was also organised in the evening. The event started with a live pipe band display of the unit.
This was followed by a small talk on the surgical strikes in Nagamese followed by a small movie on the same subject. Later the commandant of the Unit also gave a briefing about the history and rich traditions of Assam Rifles. A small movie depicting the same was also shown.
The program concluded with a Jazz band performance by the Unit. Some local singers also performed with the Jazz Band. The locals thoroughly enjoyed the show and some also displayed their dancing skills on the bands performance. The evening concluded with a session where GBs and locals thanked the Assam Rifles for such an informative and entertaining evening. (Correspondent)
NCC: 1 Nagaland Girls Bn NCC under the aegis of NCC Group HQ, Kohima celebrated ‘Parakram Parv’, the 2nd anniversary of India’s surgical strikes across the LoC in 2016.
Altogether, 74 Institutions including both colleges and schools affiliated with Girls NCC in all 11 districts of the state participated in the celebrations.
A press release from, 1 Naga Girls Bn, Kohima, Col. Rajeev Kumar stated that the anniversary was observed to showcase the courage, valor and sacrifice of the Armed Forces during these operations.
A talk was delivered by Col Rajeev Kumar, CO of the Unit for the NCC Cadets at St Joseph College, Jakhama on September 29, elaborating on Parakram Parv.
A video clipping of the surgical strike-2016 was also shown depicting the valor and courage of the armed forces of the country.
The event was also commemorated at Peren, Phek, Kohima, Rangapahar and Japan Riba NCC units, stated the release.
SSP: Sainik School Punglwa celebrated the 2nd anniversary of the surgical strike conducted by Indian Army, on September 29.
In a press release PRO (Defence) Col C Konwer stated that the event was to commemorate the valor and selfless sacrifices of the Armed Forces and to sensitize students on the patriotic temperament displayed.
A special assembly was also conducted where Cdt Sonam Rinchin and Dfr Anand Kumar (NCC) shared strike operations details like precision, planning and training involved and the challenges faced on the ground and how the operation was carried out successfully with zero casualties.
As part of celebrations, students wrote slogans and painted posters on the surgical strike theme. A short motivational film on the strike which depicted the valiant and professionalism of the Indian Army was also screened for the cadets. All staff and cadets took part in the celebration
