Commemorating the culmination of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, “Meri Maati Mera Desh” was celebrated across the state.
Indisen Village: At Indisen village, Dimapur, EAC Dimapur, Imlijungla Lemtur emphasized on the significance of “Meri Maati Mera Desh” and “Har ghar Ka Tiranga”.
She noted that the initiative was to foster cohesive celebration of India’s soil and bravery, honoring the nation’s journey towards freedom and progress.
Lemtur also expressed confidence that the collective efforts and engagement in “Meri Maati Mera Desh” campaign would leave enduring imprint on India’s historical narrative.
She later expressed her gratitude to Indisen Village Council for providing platform to host the events.
Also delivering a short speech, Second in Command, 173 Bn CRPF, Airfield Dimapur, JH Mondal, extended heartfelt gratitude to valiant Heroes of the nation, noting that their supreme sacrifices have been instrumental in upholding the country’s honor.
He conveyed his appreciation to organizers and the village council for orchestrating such meaningful events to pay homage to these extraordinary individuals.
Mondal later raised the National Flag and unveiled the monolith.
In a poignant gesture, all attendees held fistful of soil (mitti), and took a solemn pledge to honor their roots and contribute to the nation’s prosperity.
Lemtur and Mondal later planted tree saplings to mark the celebration at the Panchayat Hall premises.
Purana Bazaar: At Purana Bazaar, delivering a short speech before unveiling the memorial pledge, ADC Dimapur, Mhalo Humtsoe, at Council Hall Purana Bazzar, informed the gathering that the event was held to honor the brave hearts who have sacrificed their lives in line of duty for peace and security in the country.
She noted that the event was held all over the country to commemorate the sacrifices of the security personnel.
She later informed that 75 tree saplings would be planted in and around the council hall area and requested the students to take part in the plantation drive.
Mangkolemba: The campaign was held under the aegis of Mangkolemba, and initiated by ADC Mangkolemba T. Langkosen Tsanglao at ADC office on August 12 in the presence of HoDs, Mangkolemba Town ward council authorities, students, CSOs, ex- servicemen and uniform personnel stationed at Mangkolemba.
According to DPRO Mokokchung, as a part of the Veeron Ka Vardhan exercise, the following were presented with certificate of appreciation to ex-servicemen union Mangkolemba, E Coy. 2nd NAP Tsutapela, F Coy. 9th NAP (IR) Mangkolemba and SDPO Estt. Mangkolemba, DEF Mokokchung.
A brief address regarding the significance of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, the “panch pran” pledge was led by EAC Longchem, Orenthung Kikon in the presence of ADC and administrator Mangkolemba Town Council including officials from various departments, Town Council Staff, Ward council authorities and students.
The National Flag was hoisted by ADC Mangkolemba T. Langkosen and the Panch pran pledge was led by the SDO Civil, Hotolu Sema.
Saplings were also planted at various office compounds under Mangkolemba besides ADC office complex.

Jalukie: Jalukie Town Council (JTC) organized a launching programme of ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign, a culmination of the celebration of 75 years of India’s Independence, Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav on August 11, at Jalukie Town Council Hall.
According to DIPR, ADC and administrator JTC, T.L Kiusumong Tikhir said the purpose of ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ nationwide campaign was to honour the freedom fighters who have sacrificed their lives to protect the freedom and pride of the Motherland. He also highlighted some of the various activities/programmes to be carried out during the period of the campaign. Earlier, the function began with flag hoisting and singing of National Anthem by the students of JNV, while reading out of “Panch Pran” pledge was led by EAC Jalukie, Sizin Renttah.
