Following are the reports on World AIDS Day 2019 celebration held on December 1.
Mon: The day was jointly observed by District AIDS Prevention and Control Unit in collaboration with District Legal Service Authority, Shansham Organization and Mon Users Network at district jail Mon with support from NSACS.Longyim Tzudir, DPO, DAPCU in his speech spoke on the significance of the day. A press release by DAPCU Mon, DPO Longyim Tzudir, stated that DC and chairperson DAPCC Mon Thavaseelan K, who graced the occasion as guest speaker acknowledged the organizing team for kind initiative. Lijao K, Nurse, TI Shansham spoke on the topic “Know HIV and AIDS”.
Tuensang: Tuensang district observed the day at CKS hall Tuensang Town, with DIG (R) Tuensang Rajashekare as guest speaker.The programme was organised by district AIDS prevention and control unit in collaboration with the network of Tuensang district people living with HIV and AIDS and Tuensang district legal services authority.
Kiphire: In collaboration with district AIDS prevention and control Unit and Red Ribbon Club, Zisaji Presidency College Kiphire, the day was observed in Kiphire.
KDLSA: In commemoration of the day, Kohima District Legal Services Authority took part in the programme initiated by “ARK Foundation” in collaboration with, “KNP+, NNP+ and HRLN” at KNP+ office, near NHAK.
