Along with rest of the world, various organizations, government departments and institutions celebrated World Environment Day on the theme “Only One Earth”, by carrying out plantation drives.
GBU Dimapur: GB’s Union (GBU) Dimapur on June 4 observed the day by organising a plantation drive at New Naga Cemetary, Zani Village.
In a press release issued by GBU general secretary, T. Onen Jamir stated that short speeches were delivered by DMC administrator, Albert Ezung, OSD Transport department, NiholuAyemi, and NCD president, Etsungmomo Kikon after which plantation drive commenced.
ABAM: Ao Baptist Arogo Mungdang (ABAM) observed WED on June 4 by organising plantation drive. In a press statement, ABAM executive secretary, Rev. Dr. Mar Pongener informed that plantation drive was initiated by ABAM office where 150 trees were planted at Impur.
S&WC department, Zunheboto: Soil and Water Conservation (S&WC) department, Zunheboto observed WED under the global theme “Only One Earth” on June 3 at district nursery, Vekuho village. A total of 50 cherry trees and other local tree species were planted.
UCTE: Unity College of Teacher Education (UCTE),Dimapur observed WED on June 4 at college campus.
NRLU & Forest department, Kohima division: New Police Reserve Lotha Union (NRLU) in collaboration with Forest department, Kohima division organised tree plantation drive on June 4 at New Police Reserve jurisdiction. Around 700 saplings were planted and fenced at Police Union Baptist Church, Kohima vicinity.
HMC High School: HMC High School, Dimapur observed WED on June 4. Besides plantation and cleanliness drives, the school also organized various competitions in order to raise awareness on the need to protect the environment and to maintain ecological balance.
Charis High Academy: Charis High Academy celebrated WED under the theme “Only One Earth” on June 4 by organising various competitions such as extempore speech, film focus, brilliant brushes, and waste makeover. Delhi Public School, Hollotoli School, St. Joseph Hr. Sec. School and four other schools participated in the competitions.
CTSU: Chümoukedima Town Students’ Union (CTSU) in collaboration with Chümoukedima Town Council (CTC) along with various NGOs observed WED on June 4 by organising tree plantation, cleanliness, and maintenance drives along National Highway (NH).
Pine Mount School: Staff, students, and Eco-club members of Pine Mount School, PadumPukhuri observed WED on June 4 under the theme “Only One Earth”.
MHBHSS, Kohima: With the theme “Living Sustainably in Harmony with Nature”, and to enable greener and cleaner living, Ministers Hill Baptist Higher Secondary School (MHBHSS) observed WED on June 4.
SCC: Salt Christian College (SCC) observed WED on June 4 by organizing cleanliness and plantation drive in East Police colony, Dimapur.
AFAN: Amur Falcon Adventure Nagaland (AFAN), Wokha, in collaboration with Doyang Beat, Wokha Forest Divison, organised plantation and cleanliness drive at Doyang Resort Area on June 4.
KSU: Khensa Students’ Union (KSU) along in coordination with Khensa Youth ministry and Culture Club carried out tree plantation around the village area, donated by Village Council cum VDB and AKM on June 4.
Lions Club, Akuluto: Lions Club of Akuluto, Zunheboto in collaboration with Royal School Akuluto observed WED under the theme “Cleanliness is next to Godliness”.
TFD & LVC: Tuensang Forest Division (TFD), in collaboration with Longtang Village Council (LVC) celebrated WED on June 4, at Longtang Village, Tuensang, with SP Tuensang, Vishal, as special guest.
MGHSS: NSS volunteers of Mayangnokcha GHSS Mokokchung observed WED by cleaning the Imkongmeren Sports Complex.
MITE: Modern Institute of Teacher Education (MITE), Kohima, observed WED on June 4, at the College Auditorium, organized by Ecological Club and Aesthetic Club.
MTC: Mount Tiyi College (MTC), Wokha, Eco-Club, in collaboration with Alumni Association observed WED at the College Campus on June 4, by planting ornamental saplings.
Entrepreneurs Associates: Entrepreneurs Associates(EA) planted around 15,000 fruit saplings across the state, through collaborations with 12 schools in Kohima and Dimapur, Kohima State Legal Services Authority, and Village Development Boards.
RKS: Rajeshwari Karuna School, Tuli, in collaboration with e- CIRCLE, Saahas, and Hulladek Recycling Pvt Ltd, observed WED on July 4 by conducting workshop and essay competition.
Shamator Town: Shamator Town, under the ages of Self Employed Women Association (SEWA) Shamatordistrict, Yimkhiung Berü Arihako Shamator Area (YBASA), and Rukeangberu SSG VLO NSRLM, observed WED by conducting tree plantation drive under the theme “Each one Plan one” and cleanliness drive “Say No to Plastic “.
TSU: Tenyipheii Students Union (TSU), Chumoukedima celebrated WED on June 4 by planting around 300 trees saplings within the village, provided by Forest Range Office, Chumoukedima.
