
Minister of State for Defence and Tourism Ajay Bhatt visited the family of Kargil War Hero, late Capt N Kenguruse, MVC at his home in Kohima during the second day of his visit to Nagaland on November 28.
According to PRO defence, captain Neikezhakuo Kenguruse was born on July 15, 1974 and hailed from Nerhema village of Kohima district. Capt Kenguruse was commissioned into the army service corps of Indian Army on December 12, 1998. His family would fondly call him ‘Neibu’.
The release stated that late Capt N Kenguruse sacrificed his life for the nation at the age of 25 years. He was awarded the nation’s second highest gallantry award, “Maha Vir Chakra” for his raw courage, indomitable spirit and supreme sacrifice in Operation Vijay. Capt Kenguruse is the first recipient of Maha Vir Chakra from Army Service Corps (ASC).
During the visit to the family members of capt Kenguruse, the minister conveyed his gratitude, felicitated and reassured the family members of support.
The minister was earlier briefed by the senior military leaders on the first day of the visit wherein he also interacted with the troops and commended them for their professionalism and high morale.
