MoS George Kurian interactswith head of offices in Tuensang

DIMAPUR, MAR 2 (NPN):

Union Minister of State (MoS) minority affairs and fisheries, animal husbandry and dairying, George Kurian, who was on a two-day visit to Tuensang, on Monday
had an interaction session with the head of the offices under Tuensang district in the conference hall of deputy commissioner (DC) Tuensang.
According to a DIPR report, the Union Minister discussed with officials on infant mortality rate, immunization, public distribution system, skills development, nutrition, PM Kisan, PMAY-G, SHGs, Educational System and National Highway 202.
MoS stated that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi was deeply committed to the development of Northeast region. He also said the Centre was ready to assist the state government in infrastructure development and financial assistance for the welfare of the people.
Kurian also appreciated the good works rendered by the officers at the district. He urged them to continuously work with sincerity and dedication for the welfare of the district.
In her welcome address, DC Tuensang, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa, expressed gratitude to the union minister on behalf of the entire people of Tuensang. ADC Tuensang, Shelly Katiry presented an overview profile of Tuensang district through powerpoint presentation.
Earlier, the Union Minister visited St. John Higher Secondary School, Tuensang and had an interactive session with the students.
On March 1, union minister visited Fish Farm Thimka, Tuensang Village and had an interaction with the Fish farmers. DFO Tuensang Mhomo Murry highlighted concerns faced by the department like bad road connectivity, infrastructure and need of more fishery ponds for better yielding.
DFO also informed that there were more than 80 marginal fish farming in and around Thimka Fish Farm. The union minister inspected the fishery pond and hatchery tank at the farm.
The minister also visited district hospital Tuensang and parade ground Tuensang.
In the evening, the minister had an interaction with tribal leaders, civil society organisations and BJP party unit from Tuensang.
