Union Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Nimuben Jayantibhai Bambhaniya, visited the historic Kachari Ruins and Durga Mandir in Dimapur on February 22, a DIPR report stated.
At the Kachari Ruins, the minister was received by members of the Kachari Rajbari Preservation Committee, who briefed her on the historical background and cultural significance of the Dimasa Kachari heritage site. They explained the architectural features of the mushroom-shaped monoliths and highlighted the need for continued preservation and conservation.
Bambhaniya appreciated the committee’s efforts in safeguarding the monument and emphasized the importance of protecting cultural heritage for future generations.
She also interacted with officials present and expressed admiration for the unique legacy of the Dimasa Kingdom reflected in the ruins.
Later, the minister visited Durga Mandir, where she offered prayers to Maa Durga. She extended warm wishes to the devotees and expressed happiness at their devotion and dedication.
Following the visit, Bambhaniya proceeded to the airport for departure.
