Mother of the four-year-old boy who tested COVID-19 positive passed away here on Tuesday after battling cancer. After having tested negative for COVID-19 with TrueNat machine, following her return with her family from Kolkata recently along with her four-year-old son, she was sent for home quarantine along with other family members after consulting the colony council.
Sources said the mother was undergoing cancer treatment in Kolkata. She had reportedly tested negative three times earlier and on Tuesday morning too, the test result showed no signs of COVID-19. Source said the 19-year-old uncle, who is currently taking care of his nephew at Chümoukedima Covid Care Centre, also tested negative on Tuesday morning.
Meanwhile, official sources clarified that an incident of death at Diphupar here, which went viral on social media after some people linked it with COVID, was not due to COVID but other ailments.
