Motor vehicles department holds meeting on road safety

Taking serious note on the rise in road accidents, the Motor Vehicles Department held a key meeting on October 3 at the Transport Commissionerate, Kohima.


Chaired by advisor of Transport & Technical Education, Temjenmenba, the session witnessed participation of Regional and District Transport Officers among others.


In his address, the advisor stressed on intensifying efforts to prevent such mishaps. He highlighted the need for rigorous enforcement of the MV Act and emphasized on updating the skills of drivers through periodic tests.

Transport Commissioner, Elias T. Lotha, outlined the department’s role in ensuring road safety and its strategy based on the 4 E’s of Road Safety. In conclusion, the advisor pledged his unwavering support for enhancing the department’s reach and efficiency.
