
Kohima district administration in association with Nagaland Motorcycle Club organised a motorcycle rally under the theme ‘Be the one, Yes to Clean Elections’ under Kohima district SVEEP campaign, on Tuesday.
The rally was flagged off by DC and DEO Kohima, Anoop Khinchi at his DC office complex.
Before flagging off the rally, DC said that the rally was organized as part of the district SVEEP campaign to create awareness on clean election. He therefore, called upon the riders to propagate the message to the general public “to vote right, in order to have their future bright”. He hoped that through their participation, the message on clean election will reach to the general public.
Around 30 bikers participated in the rally with marshal Daniel Metha leading the bikers and Medo Makrietsu at the end.
The rally covered the whole area of the town with a short stoppage at the following locations: Old MLA Hotel junction, Keziekie, High School junction, Secretariat, Don Bosco junction, PHQ, Lerie and culminated at the box cutting area.
Under SVEEP campaign, series of awareness programmes on the theme “No to Plastic, Yes to Clean Elections” through music, distribution of posters, social work, rally etc have been carried out in Kohima district.
Meanwhile, a similar bike rally was also organized at Tuensang under the Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign on April 1.
ADC Tuensang, M. Chaitanya Prasad flagged off the rally, comprising of Nagaland Motor Cycle Club Tuensang Chapter at DC Office Complex.
