MSU conducts 63rd annual session

Moilan Students Union (MSU) Wokha held its 63rd annual session on Tuesday at O point, Moilan on the theme “the foundation of every state is the education of its youth”. 

Speaking at the programme as special guest, Lotha Youth Organization Dimapur (LYOD) president Nzanbemo Humtsoe who is also the proprietor of Humtsoe construction, extended Christmas and New Year’s greetings to all.

He encouraged the students by saying that education was essential for the youth in creating opportunities for themselves, staying away from illegal activities and providing for their families. 

Focusing on the theme, Nzanbemo said that the need for educating younger generating was important because education helped one think critically and enhanced their imagination.

He also said that education of youth was important as growth, development and poverty reduction depended on the knowledge and skills that people acquired and not the number of years that they sat in the classroom. 

A minute of silent prayer was observed in rememberance of the departed students and MSU pioneers.

Highlights of the event included special number by Mhajan Kikon, prayer for students by Moilan Baptist Church (MBC) pastor R Kikon and a short speech from the village council chairman.

The programme was chaired by Nzanti Ovung and vote of thanks was delivered by MSU general secretary Ajanthung N Ovung.
