Mt. Tiyi NSS represents Nagaland at NE Festival

The NSS Unit of Mount Tiyi College, Wokha, represented Nagaland at the North East NSS Festival held from April 21 to 25, 2026 at the University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM). The five-day residential event was organised by the Regional Directorate, Guwahati, under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, in collaboration with the NSS Cell, USTM.
Led by programme officer Ekonbeni M. Tsanglao, a contingent of 30 volunteers joined fellow NSS units from across the Northeast for cultural exchanges, folk performances, thematic plays, leadership sessions and community engagement activities.
Nagaland distinguished itself by securing the highest number of prizes at the festival. The team won laurels in folk song (2nd and 3rd), slogan and poster competition (1st), field survey (1st), and the cultural integration programme state award (3rd).
Beyond competitions, the volunteers actively participated in social service initiatives, awareness campaigns and community-based programmes, embodying the spirit of service and unity. The festival concluded with a valedictory programme celebrating achievements and reinforcing the message of “unity in diversity.”
