MTB SkillForge, an initiative by MTB Exams UK, brings a series of music education events and concerts to Kohima, Dimapur, and Shillong this October.
Founded by Head of Music & Pedagogy, India, Dr. Karl Lutchmayer, MTB SkillForge is dedicated to raise music education standards in India through masterclasses and educator workshops equipping participants with practical tools, fresh perspectives, and world-class expertise.
The program blends global excellence with local accessibility, fostering a thriving community of musicians and educators.
The series will begin on October 6 in Kohima, in collaboration with TaFMA (Task Force for Music and Arts), with educator workshops followed by a recital titled “Real Lives and Tall Tales: a recital of autobiographical reminiscence and fantastical narratives”, featuring Dr. Lutchmayer and violinist Nourhe Khate. The Sunshine Orchestra, an initiative of the A.R. Rahman Foundation, will open the concert.
The series continues in Dimapur on October 7, with workshops at Hotel Saramati, with masterclasses at the Margaret Shishak School of Music and educators will engage in hands-on mentoring.
The event in Dimapur will conclude with a concert opened by the Margaret Shishak School of Music Singers, featuring recital performances by Dr. Lutchmayer and Nourhe Khate.
The final event will be held on October 9 in Shillong at Lum Jingsuk Homes with Skillforge events during the day and concluding with a performance by the Arora Choir.
