Jubilee Memorial College, an undertaking to commemorate the resolution of the platinum jubilee of Mokokchung Town Baptist Church (MTBA) will kick off formally on June 15, 2015.
At a press conference, Convener, Dr. Imliwati stated that the college will offer degree courses on Bachelor of Arts with Honours in History, Sociology, Economics and Political science along with Environmental science. Further, he informed that admission forms have been issued for the current academic session from which and only fifty students ( Arts stream) will be accommodated based on merit basis.
‘Some of the additional courses that the college will provide is Music, Counselling centre and the unique ‘Enrichment Courses’, added Dr. Imtiwati.
Pastor MTBA, Rev Ponen Longchar said the College Board of trustees was on the process of including other streams- Science and commerce, including a permanent site with potentials to offer residential options to the students. ‘Jubilee Memorial College is a reality because of the sincere combine dedication and assistance of the Public, Institutional and Governmental agencies, with Grace of God’, said Pastor Rev. Ponen.
He also hoped that the establishment of the new college will benefit the people.
