MTD organises Advance Christmas Carol

Merangkongtsür Telongjem Dimapur (MTD) on Friday organized an advance Christmas Carol 2022 here to commemorate 150 years of Christianity in Nagaland.
The carol party comprising of over 500 individuals, alongside the Merangkong Marching Band, carolled from Old NST to Plaza Police Point junction and back to Old NST singing melodious Christmas songs.
Interacting with members of media fraternity, MTD president Mereninla Yaden stated that the carol was organised to commemorate the 150th year of the advent of Christianity in Nagaland. She mentioned that the carol was organised to spread the message of joy and peace and celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, further expressing the hope to share the true meaning of celebration of Christmas to all Nagas, especially the younger generation.
She urged all Nagas to celebrate Christmas together and remember the true meaning of celebration of Christmas. She also expressed concern over the effects of westernisation and urged all to celebrate Christmas for its true meaning.
Claiming that there were no hurdles in organising the carol, Mereninla lauded the union and its office-bearers and all those involved for taking responsibility and making the carol a grant success.
She also acknowledged the support of Merangkong Senso Telongjem Dimapur and for taking the initiative of involving Merangkong Marching Band.
