MTLT concern for power and water supply in Mokokchung

Taking stock of the constant power fluctuations in the recent past and also for regular supply of water in Mokokchung town, the Mokokchung Town Lanur Telongjem (MTLT) held a meeting with the power department and PHED, Mokokchung on March 28. 
Media cell MTLT highlighted some key points to the power department with regard to the power supply in the town. MTLT demanded 24×7 power supply in the town given the fact that the citizens were paying the bills regularly. MTLT also cautioned that power allotment must be in proportion to the payment of the bills. MTLT further anticipated that the power department would heed the demands of the citizens immediately. 
MTLT also discussed important concerns with the executive engineer, PHED, Mokokchung, who highlighted the projects of the department to ensure proper water supply to the citizens in town. It stated that department was working to take stock of the damaged pipes along the Techipami source. Media cell stated that he also informed that the department was initiating short-term relief water supply to meet immediate needs, like bore wells and water tankers and such projects which have already been submitted to the higher authority for approval. 
While appreciating the measures being taken by PHED, Mokokchung the MTLT has also impressed upon the government to speed up the completion of such projects and urged that water charge of Rupees 30/- should not be imposed when there is no water supply.
