Mokokchung Town Lanur Telongjem (MTLT) has condemned the sexual assault/abuse of two juveniles on several occasions by the accused in Mokokchung town.
A condemnation by MTLT president Imkummeren, convenor grievances cell Aolong Imchen and general secretary, Lanu Pongen expressed shock and condemned the heinous act and asserted its stand that such acts of molestation, rape or sodomy cannot and will not be tolerated in society. MTLT also shared sympathy with the victims and family at this moment of grief and humiliation and also demanded the district administration and concerned government agencies to properly rehabilitate the victims so that the mental trauma that they have endured would be assuaged.
MTLT lauded the district administration and the police for taking prompt action in arresting the accused and registering the case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act 2012 and that the offender be given the sternest of punishments.
