Drawing attention to the deplorable condition along the NH-2, Amguri to Mokokchung road which has been causing much hardship to the general public, the Mokokchung Town Lanur Telongjem (MTLT) expressed that concerned authorities should ensure good motorable roads.
A press release by MTLT grievances cell convenor, Aolong Imchen and president Imkummeren Jamir stated that, this stretch of road was the lifeline for the whole Langpangkong range under Mokokchung district covering more than thirty villages, four townships, and was also the economic lifeline for Longleng district.
Claiming that since the two-lane road widening project started, the work has been carried out at a snail-paced manner rendering it totally unfit for travel during the monsoon season, the MTLT stated that villagers’ only option was to travel to Mokokchung town which was more worrying because of the deplorable road condition.
Under such circumstances, the MTLT share its solidarity with the people of Langpangkong range and Longleng district and respect their resilience during such trying times.
MTLT lauded the Langpangkong Tsukong Mungdang Road Coordination Committee (LTM RCC) for taking ownership of the highway and closely monitoring the progress of the development works.
The MTLT also assured its assistance to Langpangkong Tsukong Mungdang (LTM) if situation so necessitates.
