CHÜMOUKEDIMA, AUG 3 (NPN): Medziphema United FC registered an emphatic 4-1 victory over Piphema United FC in Match 9 of the 2nd edition of the CDFA League-cum-Rokonicha Champions Trophy played at Chümoukedima Football Stadium on Monday.
Piphema United FC drew first blood through Vikedo in the 9th minute, but Medziphema United FC responded almost immediately when Neisietso equalised a minute later. Viselie then put Medziphema United FC in command with goals in the 50th and 80th minutes before Piphema United FC’s Keneisezo inadvertently turned the ball into his own net in stoppage time (90+5 minutes), sealing a comprehensive 4-1 win for Medziphema United FC.
The match witnessed three yellow cards. Medziphema United FC’s Kekruneilie (Jersey No. 2) was cautioned in the seventh minute, while teammate Rokovizo (Jersey No. 9) and Piphema United FC’s Katoho (Jersey No. 16) were both shown yellow cards in the 90+4th minute.
Viselie (Jersey No. 14) of Medziphema United FC was adjudged the Player of the Match for his outstanding performance, which included a brace.
The match patron was vice president of the APO, Seyielhouto Keyho.
Meanwhile, Match 10 of the tournament will be played on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m., featuring Outlaws FC against Medziphema Football Academy. The match patron will be Commandant, 22nd Assam Rifles Headquarters, Medziphema, Col. Kartik Thapa Bahadur.
