Mumbai, May 20 (IANS): A 40-year-old man identified as Adil Ishaq Latif, a resident of the Agripada area in Mumbai, allegedly molested a 13-year-old boy by showing him pornographic films and physically assaulting him on multiple occasions, threatening the victim with “dire consequences” whenever he resisted, officials said on Wednesday. The incident took place at Clock Tower residential society in the Agripada locality, with the accused allegedly taking advantage of situations when no other family members were present in the house. The accused was known to the victim’s family, and the boy gathered the courage to confide the entire ordeal to his family, who subsequently approached the Agripada Police Station and filed a formal complaint. Based on the complaint, a case has been registered under Section 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita and the POCSO Act, with the Agripada Police launching a thorough investigation and a manhunt for the absconding accused.
Adil Ishaq Latif has been absconding since the case was registered, with police conducting searches at several locations to track him down.
