Municipal Affairs secretary, Dr. Maongwati Aier in an order dated March 26, 2016 suspended its additional director and HoD. In the order, Aier stated that the official has been put under suspension with immediate effect “for his alleged involvement in misappropriation of funds under the 13th Finance Commission Award, Rajiv Awas Yojana and BSUP projects”. The official has further been directed not to leave its headquarters (Kohima) without obtaining prior permission of the secretary, the order stated.
