‘Mütsalemi Cultural Day’ celebrated at Mütsale

The “33rd Mütsalemi Cultural Day” under the theme, “Culture is your identity” was celebrated on January 9 at Mütsale Village, Phek district. Speaking at the programme, leader of Naga People’s Front (NPF) Legislature Party, Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu said culture was not only about traditional dresses, songs and dances but “it is also about our habits, our way of living and dealing with things that surrounds us every day.”

Stating that “true culture” of the Nagas was God fearing, honesty and hardworking, he lamented that Nagas have already lost its “true culture” which was evident in the recently concluded assembly elections. “We must realize our mistakes and regret and repent for the same and take corrective measures or else Nagas will be doomed,” Azo said. He added that time has come for the Nagas to retrospect and introspect their lives as to how they really live and take corrective measures.

He said, “We also need to live a true Christian life and put God first in everything we do and fight for our rights which needs to be passed on to the next generation or posterity will blame us.” The festival was also addressed by NNC/FGN kedallo, Zhopra Vero.
