MVC discusses welfare agendas; resolves

Mengu Village Chümoukedima (MVC) at its annual general held on April 27 at Government Primary School premises discussed various agendas concerning the welfare of the village and passed resolution.
At the meeting, council chairman, Thejangulie Kire informed the members on the earlier resolution on ban on keeping firearms by the caretaker and burning of jungles.


The meeting resolved that villagers rearing cattle should supervise their cattle and ensure that it does not damage others development failing which the owner will be penalized as per the law. On the road maintenance and widening, the village council has appealed to all villagers to extend full cooperation and decided to organise a donation drive for the road project.
The house has also resolved that the house owner should equally share the responsibility of any untoward incident if so happen.


Also speaking at the meeting, council Secretary Rokovicha Zhünyü informed that land holding certificate shall be thoroughly scrutinized and verify and only after fulfilling the village resolution/ criteria, the same will be renewed.
It also reiterated that, cases such as land which were cancelled and re-alloted will not be entertained at any cost.
Earlier, the meeting started with invocation by the village local church pastor Kehousilie and followed by introductory speech and welcome by the chairperson Keneiselie Zatsu.
